OBITUARY

Rheba Beatrice Burge, 83, departed this earth to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, January 7, 2022. She was born in Iola, TX, on June 17, 1938, to Peter Breece Yeager and Myra Ann Yeager (Beckham). Rheba was blessed with two children, Laura Ann (Helbert) Carlisle and Sharron Diane (Shaw) Jedlicka. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Rheba was very independent and often took on the role as caregiver for friends and family. She enjoyed going to church and Bible study. In addition, she was skilled in cooking, professionally as well as for family and friends. Rheba spent her final 15 years in Roman Forest, TX with her daughter, Laura, making many local friends, often times volunteering her culinary expertise when needed. She was a faithful member of Forestwood Baptist Church in Roman Forest and former member of Unity Baptist Church in Porter.

Survivors include sister, Dorothy Conner of Elgin, TX; daughter, Laura Carlisle & husband, Stephen of Roman Forest, TX; daughter, Sharron Jedlicka of Columbus, IN; granddaughters, Tabatha, Stephanie, and Victoria; grandsons, Lorenzo and Cody; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie “Chuck” Burge; brothers Elbert Yeager and James Yeager; and sisters Ruebena Byars, Edith Denman, Lorena Reinhart, and Alice Isbell.

A private celebration of life will be held at a future date in Louisiana to re-unite Rheba and Chuck for their final resting place.

  3. Reba was a light in this world and the world will be a little dimmer without her. She Is with her having a father and her loved ones and it’s looking down on us and will be trying to take care of everybody as always. We will miss her greatly.

  4. Thank you grandma for always being here for my family and me. Thank you for being my children step grandma. Thank you for all the things you taught me. Grandma just know I will be here for Laura as family. With each morning coffee I drink you will be in my heart.
