Mildred May (Burkell) Schlotzhauer, 92, went to her Heavenly home on January 12, 2018. Mildred had recently relocated from Mesa, Arizona to Kingwood, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mildred was born June 14, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to Harold Hunter and Anna May (Grant) Burkell. She married Robert Schlotzhauer Sr. on October 30, 1943. Mildred and Robert raised three children in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. They later lived in Littleton and Parker, Colorado. Mildred enjoyed genealogy, quilting, volunteering, and traveling with her husband Robert. They moved to Mesa, Arizona in 2004 and enjoyed life at Mesa Good Shepherd, a retirement community.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Robert, and her parents, Harold and Anna Burkell. She is survived by three children, Robert Schlotzhauer Jr., Donna Aden, and Dee Ann Pestana, four grandchildren, Laura Schoeneberger, David Stevens, Sarah Dekker-Cooper, and Ana Dekker, and one great-grandchild, Nicholas Talbert.
There will be a inurnment at 11:00 am Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veteans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
