January 13, 1957 - January 29, 2017
Jerry Clinton Stephens, born on January 13, 1957 in Madisonville, Texas, passed away on January 29, 2017. He leaves behind his mother, Edith Stephens, Daughter, Ashley and Husband Daemon Beeman, and his beautiful granddaughter, Addyson James. Jerry’s parents moved to Houston’s Northside where he lived most of his life, He graduated from MacArthur High School in 1975. His father, Dilmous (Calvin) Stephens, brother Timothy Colquitt and his wife of many years, Vicki Stephens, preceded him on their journey to heaven.
Jerry and Vickie moved to Cleveland, Texas where they set up a simple life on a small plot of land with a trailer. He was happiest when the fire was smoking, the pit was cooking and he was surrounded by close friends and family. Jerry never turned anyone in-need away, whether they were old friends or new acquaintances, It was not uncommon for him to befriend someone through conversation about music, motors or fishing. A simple man built on fairness and love.
In 2006 he moved to Splendora and began to simplify life even more. He found small jobs to stay busy and really spent time enjoying his daughter and granddaughter. Until his final days, he never met a stranger. His giving nature allowed him to forge friendships with most anyone, and his quiet demeanor could be deceiving. Those that were close to him knew how he loved to laugh, be silly, and was loud once the good times were flowing. He is certainly enjoying a fishing bank and a lively set of tunes some place where the paved roads end.
