James Ralph Story was born April 27, 1931 in Lafayette, LA and passed away June 29, 2016 in Kingwood, TX. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Louise Fruia Story; sons, Louis Story and wife Lurah, James Story Jr., Edward Story and wife Karen; daughter, Marie Elliott and Mike; grandchildren, Louis Story Jr., Jared Story, Katelyn Elliott and Kameron Elliott and brother, Larry Hiller. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lettie Hiller; father, Clarence Story; step-father, Charles Hiller; son, Michael Joseph Story and brother, A.J. Hiller.

James had a lifelong career in the funeral industry working as a Funeral Director for Martin & Castille in Lafayette, LA before moving to Houston where he went on to work for Palms Funeral Home, Levy Funeral Home and Earthman’s Funeral Home. He ended his career in Humble, TX at Rosewood Funeral Home and Kingwood Funeral Home. Always a passion for family and food James owned and operated a restaurant, James County Kitchen in Porter, TX.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 6 – 8 pm with a Rosary recited at 7 pm at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Friday, July 1, 2016 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 527 S Houston Ave., Humble, TX 77338. He will be interred at Forest Park Lawndale at 1 pm immediately following the service.
