Jessica Hollis Van Soestberg passed peacefully from this life Wednesday August 24, 2016.  Jessica was born in Baton Rouge, LA on September 14th, 1987 to Steve and Leslie Hollis.  Jessica lived in Baton Rouge until she was 13 years old.  While in Baton Rouge, Jessica was very involved with the Chapel on the Campus children’s and youth music and drama programs where she was loved by many.

The Hollis family moved to Coppell, Texas in 2001.  Jessica graduated from Coppell High School where she was very active in both the arts and choral music programs. She especially loved the varsity choir and Madrigal competitions/performances – domestic and abroad.  She also held many parts in local musical theater productions and received state wide recognition for her artwork.  She attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee her freshman year to study vocal performance.  She then transferred to Baylor University and went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2009.

 She married Mark Van Soestberg on June 9th, 2013. Mark was the man of her dreams.  He was the anchor to her “hot air balloon!”  He was her soul mate.  They laughed, they loved, and they brought out the best in each other.  After they married, they moved to the Houston, TX area.

Jessica loved being a part of Antioch Community Church.  She really enjoyed helping out with infant child care and singing and praising Jesus by leading worship in the ATS Discipleship program.  She and Mark led worship for many home groups and small events. Her beautiful singing voice was a blessing to many.   Jessica took pride in working at Kosmin Media Group in Kingwood.  She was also working on developing a website to market her work with murals, portraits, and commissioned art.

Jessica is survived by her husband Mark; Parents:  Steve and Leslie Hollis; Brother and Sister in law Austin and Hannah Hollis, Brother Grayson Hollis, Brother and Sister in law David and Julie Denning;  Nephews and Niece:  Jackson and Wyatt Hollis, Sophie and Davey Denning.  Grandparents:  Claude and Jackie Hollis, Jack and Dorothy Hudson, Kathy Cooper, Mother and Father In-law Dan and Mary Van Soestberg and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins who were all a very important part of her life.

Her wonderful spirit, joy, and talents will be celebrated Tuesday, August 30 at a 1pm memorial service at First Presbyterian Church, 5520 Kingwood Dr, Kingwood, TX  77345
