Catherine Madeline (Rukavina) Wright, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2017 due to complications from a short battle with leukemia. She was 48. Catherine was born on March 25, 1969 in Harvey, Illinois and spent her childhood in the Hegewisch community of Chicago, Illinois before moving to sunny Arizona.

Catherine was a 1997 graduate of Arizona State University, spent her professional life working to serve students at Arizona State University, University of Mississippi, and most recently, the University of Houston Law Center, a job she enjoyed for 15 years.

Catherine loved her husband, her children, and her extended family and friends. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends. She leaves her husband and children with the knowledge that they were truly loved and they know that she loved the Lord. Additionally, she also loved all creatures great and small and was passionate about rescuing homeless pets.

She enjoyed warm, sunny days on the beach and being outdoors. She actively served in her community and at Kingwood United Methodist Church. Catherine is survived by her loving husband, Alan Wright of Kingwood, Texas, and their two children, Madeline (14), and Ethan (12), and her mother, Stefica Rukavina of Chicago, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her father, Nick Rukavina of Chicago, Illinois.

Services are being held on Friday, June 30 at 2:00pm at Kingwood United Methodist Church.
