After 8 years in the mortuary business, the family had decided they would like more involvement with the families of lost loved ones. So, in 1994 at the age of 35, with the spiritual support of community clergy. Mr. Brooks opened Oak Cliff Funeral Chapel at Kessler Park, where he committed himself and his staff to “Service to Families First”. From there he opened North Dallas Funeral Home in 2002 as well as acquired Forest Lawn Funeral Home in 2008. Forrest Lawn was a predominantly Jewish funeral home. In taking on this new venture, Mr. Brooks and his family demonstrated their ability to provide tremendous service for any family; no matter their race or faith.
With the ever-evolving digital age, the importance of changing with the times is crucial & Mr. Brooks didn’t shy away from this challenge. He rose to it by taking advantage of the newest innovative technologies to keep himself and his businesses ever growing with the times and needs of the families in their care. He pioneered this space, leading the way for all who will come behind him. That position also allowed her to work in many communities alongside the Marketing Liaison’s, Director of Marketing, Executive Director, Director of Nurses and the interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, chaplains’ social workers and more amazing staff.
During her 12 years as the hospice Director of Volunteer Services, Cynthia received the “Volunteer of the Year” award from the Rowlett Seniors group, whom she served for 8 years. Cynthia also served with other volunteer organizations, and led monthly groups for the Alzheimer Association before covid changed the meetings.

She has been a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Director, Church Secretary, and a Pastor’s wife.
Jamie is blessed with two sons, Stephen, and Casey and four grandchildren, Hunter, Landon, Zoe, and Grace.
Twenty-nine years ago, Jamie lost her sixteen-year-old son. In 2004, she lost her husband of 25 years and lost both father and mother in 1999 and 2011, respectively. Having experienced personal loss and grief, Jamie’s goal is to make a difference for families who experience loss by sharing words of comfort, encouragement, and faith.

One of the most meaningful aspects of my role at this funeral home is helping create a welcoming and supportive environment for the families we serve. As part of the administrative team, I assist with the daily operations of the funeral home and am often one of the first people families meet when they arrive.
I believe every family deserves to be greeted with warmth, respect, and understanding. During a time that can feel overwhelming, my goal is to help create an atmosphere that feels comfortable and reassuring from the moment someone walks through our doors. Whether assisting behind the scenes or welcoming families into our funeral home, I take pride in helping ensure every detail is handled with care and professionalism.
Working in funeral service has given me a deep appreciation for the importance of community and connection. While every family's journey is unique, one thing remains the same—no one should have to face loss alone.
